WP Map Block supports nine map providers. Two are free; the rest ship with Pro.
Free providers
- OpenStreetMap — no API key, privacy-friendly, great default.
- Google Maps — familiar look; needs a free Google Maps API key.
Premium providers Pro
Mapbox, MapTiler, OpenFreeMap, Stadia, Esri, CARTO and Azure — each with its own styles and map types. Add keys under Premium provider keys.
Setting the provider
Pick a provider per map in the builder’s Provider panel, or set a site-wide default for new maps in Settings.
Not sure which to use? OpenStreetMap for a no-key start; Google for familiarity; Mapbox/MapTiler for custom styling.
