What We’re Building for You
3.2.1
Security: Maps list endpoint now only returns maps the current user can edit.
Security: Publish/unpublish/delete REST actions enforce per-map capability checks (CVE-2026-19798).

3.2.0
Security: Hardened REST endpoints, data sources and output escaping.
Added: Plugin data is cleaned up on uninstall (maps are kept).
Added: Free and Premium install side by side as separate plugins — activating one deactivates the other.
Added: Premium providers are shown with a Pro badge and can’t be selected in the free version.
Improved: Classic map block settings and marker modal revamped, with full controls in the block sidebar.
Improved: Map picker and embed block redesigned.
Improved: Marker popups.
Improved: The builder preview now matches the front end — locked Pro features are not shown.
Improved: Upgrade links are tagged with UTM parameters.
Changed: Emoji icons replaced with SVG icons across the plugin.
Fixed: Popup text was invisible in the Overlay style when a marker has no image.
Fixed: Google Maps’ error message stayed on screen after switching to another provider.
Fixed: Dark base map and the CARTO provider showed “API KEY REQUIRED” tiles — they now use CARTO’s keyless vector styles.
Fixed: Stadia Maps showed a blank map without an API key — it now falls back to OpenStreetMap.
Fixed: New maps could start on a locked Pro provider.
Fixed: Opening a map that no longer exists now shows “Map not found”.
Fixed: Maps list shows provider names (e.g. “OpenStreetMap”) instead of slugs.
Fixed: Premium license links and the Compare page could show “not allowed”.
Fixed: “Copy shortcode” did nothing on sites served over plain HTTP.

3.1.0
Security: Fixed missing authorization on the map REST endpoints (CVE-2026-19798). The create, publish/unpublish, bulk and delete actions now enforce per-map capability checks (`edit_post`, `publish_post`, `delete_post`), so lower-privileged users (Contributor and above) can no longer create, publish, unpublish or delete maps they do not have the capability to manage.
Added: A first-run picker on both blocks — choose a Simple map, start from a template, use the Classic block, or embed a map you already built, right from the first screen.
Added: Pro features surfaced in the picker, each linking to the plan comparison, so you can see at a glance what Pro adds.
Added: A “No API key required” badge on the Classic map choice — a reminder that the keyless providers (OpenStreetMap and friends) work out of the box.
Added: The Classic map block is available in the inserter again, alongside the new block.
Added: Classic maps (still living inside post content from older versions) are now listed in the map library, with a one-click path to open and upgrade them.
Added: One-click upgrade from a simple or classic block into a fully configured saved map — markers, provider, zoom and size all carry over.
Fixed: Marker popups now keep their line breaks on both the new engine and the classic block.
Fixed: Cluster counts and clustered markers now render (with marker icons, category colours and animations) — no glyph server and no third-party font request, so the “no API key” promise holds.
Fixed: Spacing in the classic marker modal, and the Leaflet location picker now sizes correctly
Fixed: A freshly created classic block no longer throws “Map container not found”.
